LOJ's History

Sep 1987 Ptr Nick Rodriguez, an ordained minister, started the first home bible study with a family in Wentworthville. It soon grew in number as friends joined in.
Apr 1988 After Ptr Rodriguez and his family settled down in their new home in Rooty Hill, NSW, they encouraged other families to join the bible study. The Lord blessed this ministry and so they multiplied.
Oct 1988 Since it was difficult to have a growing fellowship in a house every week, a decision was made to move the meetings to Saturday afternoons in Minchinbury Community Centre. The majority of the members were also attending the Sunday Service at Emmanuel Christian Family Church (ECFC) in Plumpton, where Ptr Rodriguez served as an Elder.
Aug 1991 The growing number of Filipino members in ECFC moved the venue of their meetings to Rooty Hill and named them “Rooty Hill Christian Fellowship.” They organised a board of elders and established home bible study groups at Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Plumpton and Rooty Hill.
Nov 1991 The name Rooty Hill Christian Fellowship was changed to Love of Jesus Christian Ministries (LOJ) voted by the majority of members.
May 1993 By the agreement of the members seeking a Filipino worship service, and with the blessing from the mother church (ECFC), the Saturday Fellowship was changed to Sunday service, and operate formally as a full-grown church.
Dec 1993 LOJ was legally registered with the Consumer Affairs, a government body, as a formal church.
Jan 1994 A finance committee was formed to manage the church's finances.
May 1994 LOJ Sunday Service was transferred to William Dean Public School Hall at Dean Park.
Oct. 1995 LOJ Constitution ratified. A “Ministry team of Elders” runs and manages the entire business affairs of the church.
Dec 1995 LOJ held their Christmas celebration for this year in the newly acquired Church property at No. 15 Memphis Street, Mount Druitt, NSW where they now hold their regular meetings and services. This church sanctuary is named: LOJ Christian Life Centre.
Jan 2004 LOJ daughter churches established at Rooty Hill and Quakers Hill.
Jan 2005 LOJ Croydon Park outreach is established. Inaugural opening was on 5th March 2005.
